A competitor may hit in a Local Qualifier as many times as they like. They simply pay the entry fee for each attempt. For every 7 attempts in a qualifier, 1 entry in to a Regional Event will be awarded. A competitor may also enter as many Qualifiers as they like. Competitors may only win 1 Regional Entry per Local Qualifier. Ex. If a competitor has the top 2 longest drives in a Local Qualifier, he will only be awarded 1 Regional entry. If 2 competitors need to be selected, the next longest drive not belonging to the first competitor will be selected.
No. Your results are ONLY compared to the competitors in the same Local Qualifier as you.
So, if you miss the cut in one Local Qualifier Tournament, you may enter as many more as you like to continue attempting to earn a Regional entry.
Every Local Qualifier will be using its own set of golf balls. Whether they are provided by the PLDA or by the facility hosting the Local Qualifier, the balls will be the same for all competitors in that specific qualifier.
Winners at the local qualifying level will have the option to select any regional they would like to attend that has available space. Upon completion of the local qualifying event winners are encouraged to obtain their PLDA Membership if they don't already have one and then signup immediately for their Regional Event of choice. Spaces may be limited so don't wait.
Yes. Amateurs will pay a reduced entry fee to compete in Open Division tour events.
If you declare competing as an Amateur, prizes and winnings will be subject to USGA Guidelines.
Weather and Covid-19 are the two biggest variables right now. If for some reason the event needs to be canceled, the PLDA will first attempt to reschedule. If an event must be canceled completely, PLDA will refund your entry fee or provide equal credit to you for another event.
